Why start a business in this town? I started my home-based business so that I can share a product I feel passionate about with my community. I am able to earn a living while staying home with my two small children in the town we love. My daughter was diagnosed with Celiac Disease last year, so the Certified Gluten Free items we offer are especially important to me and my family and I want to share an amazing product with our neighbors and friends.
Briefly, what business are you in? I am in the business of sharing! Wildtree products are USDA Certified Organic, they have a huge line of Certified Gluten Free products and are all natural and low in sodium and sugars. Just good food! The facility in Rhode Island is 100 percent peanut free and follows strict protocol with all food allergies. Soon to come is our Kosher Certification. We offer culinary blends, one pan skillet blends, marinades, rubs, drink mixes. We also offer freezer meal workshops where you create 10 meals for your freezer for those busy nights or days when you just don't know what to do about dinner. If you like to cook fresh, we also offer a monthly "Simple. Healthy. Dinner" bundle. There is something for everyone!
What’s the most difficult moment or challenge you’ve faced as a business owner? The most difficult challenge for my business is getting off the ground with minimal start up funds. I rose to that challenge and utilize every opportunity I am faced with. From social media outlets, to fairs and events, to family and friends. My latest victory is joining the local farmers market!
What’s been your favorite moment or proudest achievement since opening? My proudest achievement is a continuing one.....to manage my time well and keep the balance between work and family while introducing people to a wonderful product that can change the way they eat and live, one client at a time, I will make a difference!
How does your business give back or get involved in the community? Wildtree gives back in so many ways! From donations to food pantries to working with Habitat for Humanity, we love to give back!!
