Sandy Hook Woman Arrested for DUI: Police

Police say the woman was stopped after being seen driving 50 miles per hour in a 30 miles per hour zone.

SANDY HOOK, CT — A local woman was charged with driving under the influence after she was allegedly seen speeding on May 28. Chelsea Ferris, 24, was stopped on Toddy Hill Road at 6:22 p.m. after an officer clocked her at 50 miles per hour in a 30 miles per hour road.

According to the police report, an officer spoke to Ferris and determined she was under the influence. (To sign up for Newtown breaking news alerts and more, click here.)

She was taken into custody and issued a misdemeanor summons for driving under the influence and traveling unreasonably fast. Ferris was released on a $260 cash bond and will appear in Danbury Superior Court on June 13.
