Sandy Hook Woman Stole From Local Store: Police

Police say the woman left the store with around $400 in merchandise.

NEWTOWN, CT — A Sandy Hook woman was arrested on May 13 for allegedly stealing from a local business, according to police. Meghann Freeman, 34, is accused of leaving the Your Healthy Pet Store on Church Hill Road with approximately $400 worth of merchandise, police say.

After reviewing surveillance footage, Freeman was identified as a suspect and her car was stopped by police and was taken into custody at around 12:13 p.m.

Freeman was charged with the use of drug paraphernalia, five counts of possession of a non-narcotic controlled substance less than four ounces, possession of less than one-half ounce of a cannabis-type substance, larceny in the sixth degree and violating conditions of release in the second degree.
