Blind Dog Rescued From Swamp By No. Branford, Branford Officials
'We got an emergency call about a 15 year old blind dog that wandered off her property in North Branford into the swamps behind house.'
NORTH BRANFORD, CT -A blind dog who went missing in North Branford Thursday is back safely home through the combined efforts of the Dan Cosgrove Animal Shelter and the North Branford Police and Fire Departments.
On social media the Cosgrove Shelter said this about the rescue:
“We got an emergency call this afternoon about a 15 year old blind dog that wandered off her property in North Branford into the swamps behind their house.

“The dog was missing for a few hours by the time the call came in. ACO's Joyce and Burban immediately jumped into gear. The North Branford Fire Department and Police Department met us at the property and helped us to start surveying the land and going through the miles of swampland and water behind the house.
“Finally the animal control officers found the little blind dog sitting on a small island with water surrounding her. The little elderly girl wasn't hurt but she was exhausted ! Today ended up being a good day for the little dog!
