Branford School Bus, North Branford Public Works Truck 'Collide,' 2 Kids, 1 Worker Hospitalized: PD

At 2 p.m. at Mill and Forest roads, they "collided" and 2 kids taken to hospital for observation, truck driver also, with minor injuries: PD

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — At 2 p.m. Monday, a Branford Public Schools bus and a North Branford Public Works Department truck "collided" at the intersection of Forest and Mill roads, police said.

The North Branford Police and Fire departments responded to the crash, officials said. The preliminary investigation revealed that the Branford school bus was traveling southbound on Forest Road approaching Mill Road. A North Branford Department of Public Works truck was stopped at the stop sign on Mill Road, police said.

"As the DPW truck attempted to turn north onto Forest Road, the two vehicles collided," North Branford police posted to Facebook.

Police noted there were two juvenile passengers on the bus and both were transported to the hospital for observation. The DPW truck driver was also transported to the hospital with "suspected minor injuries," police said.

Police said they are investigating the crash.
