Fire Marshal Investigating Overnight Explosion, House Fire On Beech Street: NBFD Chief
Just before 1:30 a.m. Monday, North Branford Fire Dept. Co. 1 was dispatched for a reported explosion, structure fire on Beech St.: FD
NORTH BRANFORD, CT — It was just before 1:30 a.m. Monday when North Branford Fire Department, Company 1 was dispatched for the reported explosion and structure fire at 108 Beech St., Fire Chief Richard Lennon confirmed.
When Engine 1 first responders arrived, they found a "fully involved single story home."
According to Lennon, downed power lines were blocking access to the property from Beech Street, forcing units to come in from the opposite side.

Given the address is located in a un-hydranted area of the district, tankers were requested from Madison and Guilford, fire officials said. Additionally, station coverage was requested from East Haven
In less than 45 minutes, firefighters had the blaze under control. Truck 1 was set up for water tower operations to knock any remaining hot spots, officials said.

There were no injuries reported. Lennon said the Fire Marshall is investigating.
