First Responders, Public Works Staff Save Driver's Life: Town Manager
Police, fire, public works staff including Branford medics honored for quick, decisive action in saving life of driver in medical distress.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — The North Branford Town Council recognized police, fire, and public works personnel who, "through quick action and decisive action, saved the life of a motorist who was in medical distress on Forest Road on Feb. 11," Town Manager Michael Downes said.
Those recognized were North Branford police Sgt. Brian Hannon, North Branford Fire Department members Lt. Ken Ash, Deputy Fire Chief Robert Colangelo, Lt. Kyle Conklin, Jared Cacopardo, and Connor Coyne, and North Branford Public Works Director Fran Merola.
The life-saving efforts of Branford Fire Department members Paramedic Eleftherios Gionteris, EMT Andrew Raffile, EMT Andrew Seward were also praised.

"Medic 3 ambulance, crewed by Firefighter/Paramedic Eleftherios Gionteris, EMT Andrew Seward, and EMT Andrew Raffile responded as the advanced care unit to assist North Branford’s first responders. The patient was resuscitated and is reported to be doing well," Branford Fire Department wrote in a Facebook post. "Nice job by all."

The personnel were recognized by the Council, Police Chief James Lovelace, Fire Chief Anthony Esposito, state Rep. Vincent Candelora, and State Sen. Paul Cicarella.

"Congratulations to all who were recognized, and thank you for your continued outstanding service to the residents of North Branford," Downes said in a Facebook post.
