Free Narcan Training Session Set For May 30 At STW Center In Northford
Facilitated by East Shore District Health Department, Naloxone, aka Narcan, is a prescription medication that reverses opioid overdoses.
NORTHFORD, CT — A free community Narcan training event is set for Tuesday, May 20 at 6 p.m., at the Stanley T. Williams Community Center, 1332 Middletown Ave., Northford.
The training session is facilitated by the East Shore District Health Department. At the training people will learn about Narcan, how it works, when to use it, and where to get it.
Naloxone, also known as Narcan, is a prescription medication that reverses opioid overdoses. A safe and easy to use medication available from a doctor or certified pharmacist.

Connecticut Medicaid, and most commercial insurance cover Naloxone, although there may be a co-pay or deductible. All 50 states now have Naloxone access laws designed to make the medication more available.
