Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut
The Agency on Aging of South Central Connecticut offers a range of volunteer roles that support older adults across the region. Volunteers can give back in various ways, including spending time with isolated seniors, accompanying people to medical appointments, mentoring children as foster grandparents or assisting Medicare beneficiaries through SMP and CHOICES programs.

BACA is a local nonprofit that strengthens the arts community in Branford and along the Connecticut shoreline through free exhibits and cultural events. Branford Compassion Club cares for rescued and feral cats in the Branford area through a shelter, foster network and TNR efforts. Volunteers tackle a variety of hands-on tasks, including cleaning and feeding at the shelter, fostering cats, assisting in fundraising efforts and representing the organization at off-site events.

The Food Pantry of North Branford provides client-choice groceries at no cost to local residents in need. Volunteers assist guests with shopping and packing bags, stock and sort food, help with cleaning and may also pick up or deliver donations during Wednesday evening or Friday daytime shifts.

Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven
The Greater New Haven branch of Habitat for Humanity of Greater New Haven serves local families by building and repairing affordable homes. Individuals and groups alike can pitch in on construction sites, assist in the office, join committees or help with special events that support families working toward homeownership.

New Haven Reads
New Haven Reads welcomes volunteers aged 15 and older to support literacy programs for local youth through nearby tutoring sites. They can tutor students one-on-one, assist in the Book Bank by sorting donations or help lead field trip sessions for Pre-K through 5th-grade classes. Volunteers are asked to make a weekly commitment of 1 to 2 hours, depending on the position.
