Man Threatens To Shoot Out Windows Of Speeding Drivers: NBPD

North Branford police arrest man after he was seen holding sign threatening to shoot drivers "if they didn't slow down."

NORTH BRANFORD, CT - A man was charged with breach of peace in North Branford today after threatening to shoot out the car windows of people who he felt were driving too fast.

According to a press release issued by North Branford police, the North Branford Police Department responded Friday afternoon to a complaint in the area of Totoket Rd and Sunnyside Drive of a man holding a sign which read:

“SLOW THE F*** DOWN!! OR ILL SHOOT OUT YOUR WINDOWS! TRY ME!

Upon arrival found Nicholas Spaeth, 29, holding the sign (pictured).

Responding officers noticed what appeared to be a handgun in his waistband.

Spaeth was taken into custody without incident and charged with Breach of Peace. The handgun, (also pictured below), turned out to be a BB gun. Spaeth was later released on a promise to appear in court.

Chief Kevin Halloran said “Our officers do extraordinary work and showed great restraint. This could have gone terribly wrong. I’m grateful nobody was injured.”
