NORTH BRANFORD, CT — The town is expecting to receive 1,700 COVID-19 at home rapid test kits from the State of Connecticut for distribution to North Branford residents in an effort to curb the spread of COVID-19. This distribution is primarily for individuals who have interacted or intend to interact with people whose COVID 19 status is unknown or those who have symptoms or had a high-risk exposure.

On Friday, December 31, 2021, The Town of North Branford will be distributing COVID test kits. The testing kits will be available to North Branford residents only and will be distributed at Wall Field/Totoket Valley Park between the hours of 10 am – 12:00 noon, or until supplies last.

Wall Field/Totoket Valley Park is located behind the North Branford Police Department at 260 Forest Road (Rt. 22). Residents who are interested in obtaining a test kit must provide identification and are advised that there will be a two (2) kit limit per car while supplies last. As with any public event, we expect traffic delays on Route 22 and alternative routes should be considered if possible.

The at-home test kits have been provided by the State of Connecticut at no cost. The kit is an iHealth COVID-19 antigen rapid test, which is completed with an anterior nasal swab and is not the deep nasal test. The complete instructions for the at-home rapid test are available on the iHealth packaging in English and Spanish. Results are usually available in 15 minutes. More information on the iHealth antigen home test kits is available atihealthlabs.com.
