Obituary: Ethel “Vicky” Harrison, 86, of North Branford
A teacher and stained-glass craftsman, she and her husband donated the Harrison Farm Preserve to the North Branford Land Conservation Trust.
Ethel “Vicky” Harrison, passed away peacefully in her sleep at Branford Hospice on November 14th, 2023 at the age of 86. She was born on July 1st, 1937 to the late Alice Colter Brindley and the late Leslie Vernon Brindley. She was the beloved wife of the late Dudley Arthur Harrison for more than sixty years. Vicky is survived by her two cherished daughters, Susan Harrison Toal (Terry), Sandra Harrison Faulkner (Cliff) and her sister, Lesie Brindley Potter (Ted, deceased). She also leaves behind four beloved grandchildren, Devan Toal Zadrozny (Justin), Shannon Victoria Toal, Matthew Ryan Faulkner (Hannah), Lucy Faulkner Buffalo (Bennett). She is also survived by two treasured great-grandchildren, Willow Rose Faulkner and John Joseph Zadrozny “Jack”.
Vicky graduated from Wilbur Cross High School with honors and New Britain State college, majoring in elementary education. She went on to teach at Melissa Jones elementary school in Guilford, Ct and later became a stained glass craftsman. Vicky and her husband lived on Harrison Farm on North Street in North Branford, where they were known for growing Christmas trees, producing maple syrup, and growing blueberries. Vicky loved music and played numerous instruments, her favorite being the mandolin. She and Dudley played in the North Street band, called the Last Hayride. She was especially proud of her family and always looked forward to family gatherings. Her greatest passion after her family was being outdoors in nature, hiking, gardening, camping, and preserving nature. An extremely generous women, Vicky and Dudley donated the Harrison Farm Preserve to the North Branford Land Conservation Trust, to be enjoyed by generations to come.
