Obituary: Pasquale Pat Muro Jr., 91, of Northford, formerly East Haven
A Korean War veteran, career truck driver, American Legion & Knights of Columbus member, and church volunteer, he was his family's hero.
Pasquale “Pat” Muro Jr., 91, of Northford, formerly of East Haven. Husband of the late Anita Amato Muro. He was born in New Haven on September 9, 1932 to the late Pasquale and Victoria Riccardi Muro. He passed away on October 23, 2023 with his family by his side. He was predeceased by sisters Phyllis Prisco, Antoinette Muro and brothers Bernard and Richard Muro. A loving father to Roseann Muro, Roberta (Dave) Nuzzo, Pasquale Muro III, Marilyn (Tom Hart) Mullen, Joseph (Claudia) Muro and niece Gayle Aceto. Papa to 6 grandchildren, Ryan, Adam, David, Patrick (PJ), Marissa and Nikki, and 2 great grandsons Marquis and Massimo.
Pat was a Korean War Veteran and truck driver for over 30 years. He was a recipient of the St. Joseph Medal of Appreciation from the Archdiocese of Hartford. He was a 4th degree Knight for 26 years with the Knights of Columbus and Past Grand Knight of Council 3300. He was also a member of American Legion Post 76. Pat was a faithful parishioner of St. Pio of Pietrelcina (OLOP) Church, volunteering his time as a church usher, actively involved in the Midnight Run and Get Together Group. For years, Pat and his wife, Anita, spent many hours volunteering their time and family to the many different areas of the Pompeii Carnival. Even after his wife’s passing, Pat’s dedication to the carnival remained. Our family leader and hero whose shoes will never be filled.

His funeral procession will leave the PORTO FUNERAL HOME, 234 Foxon Rd. (Rte. 80), East Haven MONDAY morning at 10:30. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated in St. Pio of Pietrelcina Parish at Our Lady of Pompeii Church at 11:00. Interment with military honors will follow in All Saints Cemetery. Family and friends may call SUNDAY from 3pm to 7pm. Memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Pompeii Church, 355 Foxon Rd., East Haven, CT 06513.
