On POW/MIA Day of Recognition, North Branford Gathered To Remember, Honor
North Branford's only MIA casualty was Army SFC James Edward Creamer, reported MIA April 21, 1968, in Thua Thien Province in Vietnam.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — On Sept. 19, POW-MIA Recognition Day, local leaders and the Veterans Service Commission gathered to remember and honor all POWs and MIAs including North Branford's only MIA casualty, Town Manager Michael Downes said.
Army SFC James Edward Creamer was reported missing in action on April 21, 1968, in Thua Thien Province in Vietnam.
Included in the ceremony held at the monument on the Green next to the Congregational Church were Mayor Rose Angeloni, Town Manager Michael Downes, Bill Savastano, and Hugh Meehan. Pastor Wendy Tarry of the North Branford Congregational Church provided the invocation and benediction.

The gathered were also joined by Andy Macmillen, who was a close friend of SFC Creamer. They both enlisted in the Army together during the Vietnam conflict.
