Ribbon-Cutting Set For New Food Pantry Location In Former PD Building

​The ribbon-cutting is set for Saturday, March 22 at 10 a.m. at 260 Forest Road. Followed by a Community Open House Food Drive from 11 to 2 p.m. The pantry is in need of canned goods including beans, instant potatoes, hearty soups, and baked goods mixes.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT —The town recently entered into a lease agreement with the Food Pantry of North Branford for it to relocate from its old location in the basement of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church in Northford to the now-former police station building at 260 Forest Rd. in Northford.

"Through the renovation efforts of Rita and Phil Ney, supported by volunteers and critical donors, the top floor of the former police station has been fully renovated into a top-notch food pantry service operation which can be a model for other food pantry operations statewide," Town Manager Michael Downes said.

To honor that work and commitment and to celebrate its grand opening, the whole town is invited to attend the new North Branford Food Pantry home's official its ribbon-cutting ceremony. Also in attendance will be food panty and town officials, Shoreline Chamber of Commerce members, and local and state elected officials.

The ribbon-cutting is set for Saturday, March 22 at 10 a.m. at 260 Forest Road. That ceremony will be followed by a Community Open House Food Drive from 11 to 2 p.m. The pantry is in need of Chef Boyardee, canned beans, instant potatoes, hearty soups, baking items, like brownie cake, muffin mixes, jarred, sauces, and canned vegetables.
