Skilled Help Wanted: North Branford Hiring Public Safety Dispatcher

The starting pay for the public safety dispatcher post is $27.06 per hour, rising to $32.66 per hour after two years.

NORTH BRANFORD, CT — The Town of North Branford is accepting applications for Public Safety Dispatcher. The position is responsible for the operation of the Town's Public Safety Dispatch Center as well as for communication with all public safety agencies in the Town and the Public Works Department.

The dispatcher answers all 911 and other calls and is responsible for operating radio systems and dispatching emergency and other services as required to resolve snow events, emergency situations, or disasters. Records emergency calls and maintains any other records as needed.

Candidates must have ability to learn and operate computer, telephone, and radio systems. Candidates must also have or be able to obtain certification as State of CT tele-communicator, Emergency Medical Dispatcher, and for NCIC/Collect. Ability with Spanish, knowledge of local geography, and experience with Nexgen LEAS CAD, ProQA, and as a certified dispatcher or EMT preferred.
