St. Andrew's welcomes Rev. Bryan Spinks.

A new minister at St. Andrew's Church

ST. ANDREW’S WELCOMES REV. BRYAN SPINKS
St. Andrew’s Episcopal Church, “the White Church on the Hill in the Heart of
Northford”, is pleased to announce the appointment of the Rev. Professor Bryan
Spinks as part-time Priest-In-Charge. Rev. Spinks, a native of England, had been a
presbyter at St. Andrew’s for the past 20 years. With the retirement earlier this year of
the Rev. Jim Bradley, who had been “Missioner-In-Charge” of Middlesex Area Cluster
Ministry Network (MACM Network), which includes St. Andrew’s, along with Emmanuel
(Killingworth) and St. James (Higganum) Episcopal churches, St. Andrew’s worked with
the Episcopal Church in CT (ECCT) to call Rev. Spinks to serve as St. Andrew’s
dedicated clergy. Rev. Spinks was ordained in the Church of England in 1976, is
licensed by the ECCT, and holds dual UK and USA citizenship. He holds the “Bishop
F. Percy Goddard Professor of Liturgical Studies and Pastoral Theology, Yale
University: Institute of Sacred Music, Yale Divinity School and Berkeley Divinity
School” professorship, and lectures in his many areas of expertise in countries around
the world. When asked about his theological philosophy, Rev. Spinks indicates that he
takes Scripture seriously, but not always literally, and uses scripture, reason and
tradition together. Rev. Spinks resides in Guilford with his wife Care. St. Andrew’s
offers Sunday services at 10:00 a.m., 1382 Middletown Avenue, Northford.
