NORTH BRANFORD, CT — Here's the latest on scrap metal and bulk waste collection in North Branford over the coming weeks.
Scrap metal collection is set for the week of Oct. 20 on regular trash and recycling collection day. Permitted scrap metal includes air conditioners, dehumidifiers, microwaves, large appliances (refrigerators, with doors removed), metal lawn furniture, hot water tanks, tools, metal fencing, filing cabinets, furnaces, garbage pails, non-riding lawn mowers with gas removed, outdoor grills, small machines and aluminum siding.

Bulky waste pickup week begins Nov. 3. During that week, town residents can place bulky waste curbside up to a week before their regular collection day.

Bulky waste includes tree limbs, tree branches, scrap wood, rugs all cut to less than four feet in length, no thicker than four inches, and bundled and tied. It also includes mattresses, box springs, picnic tables, and furniture. It does not include scrap vehicle parts, or home clean-outs.
