Upcoming Lecture: The Victorian Farmhouse Kitchen

(NORTH BRANFORD, CT)- On Wednesday, May 11, Kate Zapadka will lead a talk on The Victorian Farmhouse Kitchen as part of Shoreline Adult Education's Spring Lecture Series. Click here or call our office at (203) 488-5693 to register.

This talk will be an illustrated discussion of menus, foods, and unique implements used to create meals in late Victorian America. Food preparation and preservation will be covered. Kitchen activities other than food tasks will also be discussed.

ABOUT THE SPEAKER: Kate has a Masters in Education from UConn. She is a published author and volunteers as a docent at the Dudley Farm Museum, offering tours of the historic farmhouse. Previous activities include Board of Directors, Friends of Prudence Crandall Museum, and volunteering at Mystic Aquarium. Her love for all things kitchen related was nurtured by her grandmother, one of the original Betty Crockers.
