2 Seriously Injured In Crash On I-91 In North Haven: Fire Officials
Two people needed to be extricated from a vehicle trapped under a tractor-trailer, according to fire officials.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Two people were hospitalized with serious injuries after a crash on I-91 North in North Haven on Friday night, according to fire officials.
The North Haven Fire Department responded around 8:30 p.m. to I-91 North between Exits 11 and 12 on the report of a vehicle under a tractor trailer, according to officials.
Officials said two people were trapped in the vehicle and needed to be extricated.

“Within 15 minutes, both occupants were removed and found to have serious injuries requiring transportation by Nelson ambulance to area hospitals,” officials wrote in a post on the North Haven Fire Department’s Facebook page.
I-91 North is closed between Exits 10 and 11 because of the crash, according to the state Department of Transportation.

Fire officials said Connecticut State Police remained at the scene, and lane closures are expected for the next several hours.
UPDATE: All lanes were open as of midnight, according to the state DOT.
