3 Women Caught Shoplifting In North Haven, Get Arrested: Police

"We are not going to tolerate it": North Haven police say they will continue to enforce the laws – including those considered "petty crimes"

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Three New York women were recently arrested after they were caught shoplifting in North Haven, according to police.

Officers responded to Universal Drive on Dec. 5 on the report of an active shoplifting incident involving three female suspects, according to police.

Police said the suspects had left the area in an SUV traveling northbound on Universal Drive.

Patrol units quickly located the vehicle and conducted a motor vehicle stop and identified the three occupants inside, according to police.

Police said officers recovered stolen merchandise both inside the SUV and on several of the suspects.

The three New York residents — ages 43, 29, and 42 — were all arrested and charged with larceny.

“The North Haven Police Department will continue to enforce the laws — including those some communities consider ‘petty crimes’ —because when small crimes go unchecked, they can quickly lead to larger problems,” police wrote in a post on Facebook. “We are not going to tolerate it. We remain committed to holding individuals accountable for criminal activity within our town, big or small. Commit crimes, expect to get arrested.”
