Application Deadline Extended For North Haven’s Poet Laureate

NORTH HAVEN, CT — The North Haven Poet Laureate Committee is seeking applications for North Haven’s next Poet Laureate.

The Poet Laureate’s role will be to share poetry with the greater community, including presenting original poems at the North Haven Memorial Library and other community events.

North Haven’s Poet Laureate will serve a two-year term as an ambassador participating in poetry workshops, public speaking engagements, and collaboration with the North Haven Memorial Library.

Residents over the age of 21 interested in applying to be North Haven’s Poet Laureate must submit their completed application by the new extended date of Tuesday, Dec. 31.

The Poet Laureate will be selected by the Poet Laureate Committee. The selected candidate will start their appointment in February 2025.

If you are interested in being part of the Poet Laureate Committee, please email a letter of interest to poetlaureate@northhavenlibrary.net. We are looking for members of the local education community, a faulty member from a local college or university, and other interested residents with a poetry background.
