Bridge Work Leads To Lane Closures In North Haven: DOT
The state DOT is advising motorists of lane closures that will be in effect for bridge work in North Haven over the next two months.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation is advising motorists of lane closures that will be in effect for bridge work on Route 40 in North Haven for the next two months.
The bridge work, which began this week, is being performed on Route 40 north and south in North Haven and is scheduled to be completed on Friday, Dec. 19.
“This project ensures the bridge remains in a state of good repair,” officials wrote in an advisory.

There will be alternating lane closures on Route 40 north and southbound, from Route 10 (Whitney Ave) to I-91, from Monday, Oct. 6 to Friday, Dec. 19, 2025, from 7:30 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Traffic control signing patterns, crash units, illuminated arrows, and traffic control personnel will guide motorists through the work zone.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
