Nearly 1 in 3 families struggle to afford diapers to keep their babies clean, dry, and healthy. The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP); and the Special Supplemental Nutrition Program for Women, Infants, and Children (WIC) do not cover the cost of diapers. An adequate supply of diapers helps improve the health and well-being of both a caregiver and their baby, allows parents to go to work and school, and increases access to early childhood education opportunities.
"In every Connecticut county, families need diapers without means to provide them. DBCT is dedicated to lending a helping hand to any parents, caretakers, children, and families who find themselves in that position,” said Janet Stolfi Alfano, Executive Director of The Diaper Bank of Connecticut. “Our annual Healthy Babies Diaper Drive has been met with resounding success so far, but there’s still five days to go. We’re grateful to have support from our local partners to raise awareness and help us provide for our neighbors.”
