Education Thought Leader Peter Gamwell To Share Expertise In New Haven
Gamwell will be participating in a variety of events at four schools in the county.

Slate School, Albertus Magnus College, Quinnipiac University, and Southern Connecticut State University are collaborating to bring the expertise and perspective of renowned education thought leader and author Peter Gamwell to New Haven County. These four schools have come together as a consortium to sponsor, host, and coordinate unique opportunities for educators. Peter Gamwell will be participating in a variety of events at the four schools as Author in Residence at Slate School and as visiting author and speaker at the local colleges.

Peter Gamwell is a former teacher and superintendent who has spent more than three decades studying creativity. In his books and presentations, he discusses nurturing creativity, innovation, leadership, and engagement. An adjunct professor with the University of Ottawa, Peter has been the recipient of many awards throughout his 40-year career. Peter's most recent books are The Wonder Wall: Leading Creative Schools and Organizations in an Age of Complexity as well as Thinker, Learner, Dreamer, Doer: Innovative Pedagogies for Cultivating Every Student’s Potential. He worked closely with his longtime mentor, colleague, and friend, Sir Ken Robinson, who is considered a foremost thinker about creativity and who wrote a foreword for The Wonder Wall.
One of the upcoming events with Peter Gamwell is free and open to the public, with a wide audience of local educators and others expected from near and far to participate. An Education Idea Lab, reception, and book signing will be held at Slate School in North Haven on October 27, 5:30-7:30pm. Rsvp to Kelly Campanelli at 203-872-5900.

At the nearby colleges, he will also be engaging in collaborative working sessions, campus lunches, guest lecturing in classes, presenting for education district leaders, and sharing his expertise during dinner events.
