Lane Closures Announced For Milling, Resurfacing Project In North Haven

The project is expected to take about a month to complete, according to the Connecticut Department of Transportation.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — The Connecticut Department of Transportation has announced that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 40 Southbound in North Haven starting this weekend.

The project is scheduled to occur on Sunday, Aug. 3 and be completed on Friday, Sept. 5, according to officials.

The project consists of milling and resurfacing a 1.09-mile segment of Route 40 southbound in North Haven from 0.03 miles north of Exit 1D (Dixwell Ave) to the I91 overpass. The project is scheduled to begin milling by Tilcon on Sunday, Aug. 3 to Monday, Aug. 11. The resurfacing segment of this project by Tilcon is anticipated to begin on Sunday, Aug. 24 to Friday, Sept. 5.

Motorists can expect lane closures of Route 40 from 0.03 miles north of Exit 1D (Dixwell Ave) to the I-91 overpass. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., Sunday night to Friday morning.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
