North Haven Election Results 2025: Freda Wins 9th Term As First Selectman
North Haven residents cast their ballots for several key local races on Election Day. Here are the latest results.

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Incumbent Republican First Selectman Michael Freda was elected to a ninth term after running unopposed in Tuesday’s municipal election.
In the race for Third Selectman, Democrat David Cohen defeated Petitioning Candidate Sally Buemi 2,294 to 1,217, according to unofficial results from the Connecticut Secretary of the State’s Office.
Buemi, a six-term Democratic incumbent, ran as a Petitioning Candidate after losing to Cohen in the Democratic primary election.

Here are the candidates:
Republican incumbent Michael Freda is running unopposed for his ninth term as First Selectman.
Residents will vote for one Selectman candidate. David Cohen is the Democratic candidate, William J. Pieper is the Republican candidate, and Sally J. Buemi is running as a Petitioning Candidate.
For Town Clerk and Tax Collector, Republican J. Stacey Yarbrough is running unopposed.
For Town Treasurer, Stephen Gifford is the Democratic candidate and Donald F. Clark is the Republican candidate.
For Board of Finance, residents will vote for up to two candidates. The Democratic candidates are Jennifer M. Graves and Michael Hallahan. The Republican candidates are Dyann M. Vissicchio and Laurie-Jean Hannon.
For Board of Education, residents will vote for up to two candidates. The Democratic candidates are Genevieve M. Cabrera and Holly L. Gifford. The Republican candidates are Martin L. Rudnick and Thomas W. Prefontaine. Democrat Michele L. Guglielmo is running unopposed to fill a vacancy for two years.
For Board of Assessment Appeals (full term), residents will vote for one candidate between Democrat Stephen A. Fontana and Republican Ralph L. Ricciardelli. Republican Colleen L. Brown is running unopposed to fill a vacancy for two years.
For Planning and Zoning Commission, residents will vote for one candidate between Democrat Benjamin W. Loebick and Republican Robert F. Hannon. For Planning and Zoning Commission Alternate, residents will vote for up to two candidates among Democrat Ronald D. Penton and Republicans Mark A. Parisi and Giancarlo Gallo.
For Zoning Board of Appeals (full term), residents will vote for up to two candidates. The Democratic candidates are Kieran J. Ahern and Keisha S. Gatison. The Republican candidates are Andrew P. Gorry and Luigi G. Coppola Sr. Democrat Joel I. Rudikoff is running unopposed to fill a vacancy for two years. For Zoning Board of Appeals Alternate, Republican Reilly P. Cargan is running unopposed to fill a vacancy for two years.
For Police Commission, residents will vote for up to two candidates. Alden Mead is the Democratic candidate, while Lawrence S. Lazaroff and Robert F. Hannon are the Republican candidates.
For Fire Commission, residents will vote for up to two candidates. The Democratic candidates are Patricia A. Brown and Peter J. Criscuolo Jr. The Republican candidates are Luigi G. Coppola Sr. and Pasquale F. Nuzzolillo.
