Popular Bistro Closing In North Haven
The bistro was recently honored in Connecticut Magazine's annual rankings of the state's best restaurants.
NORTH HAVEN, CT — A popular bistro is closing this week after five years in business in North Haven, the owners recently announced.
Kala Bistro, located at 1995 Whitney Avenue near the Hamden town line, will be closing permanently as of Feb. 26, the owners announced in a post on Facebook.
The owners wrote that they were “sad to announce that this chapter has come to an end” and said they decided not to renew their lease.

“It has been an honor being part of the community for these past 5 years,” the post reads. “We appreciate everyone's love and support, especially during the past 2 years of Covid.”
Kala Bistro was recently honored in Connecticut Magazine's annual rankings of the state’s best restaurants. The bistro was named an Experts’ Pick in the best Mediterranean or Greek category.

The owners said Kala gift cards will be honored at their restaurant, Olea, in New Haven (203-780-8925).
“It has been an absolute pleasure creating memories with you and your families,” the owners wrote. “Thank you for everything, and we look forward to seeing you in New Haven.
