Tractor-Trailer Rolls Over, Leaks Fluid In North Haven: Fire Officials

NORTH HAVEN, CT — Crews are at the scene of a tractor-trailer rollover on Universal Drive near Montowese Avenue in North Haven, according to fire officials.

Officials said the tractor-trailer was fully loaded with scrap metal and was making a turn onto Universal Drive when it rolled onto its side and lost its load of metal on the ground.

“The driver was uninjured, but the tractor remained unstable and in the air,” officials wrote in a post on the North Haven Fire Department’s Facebook page.

The truck was leaking hydraulic fluid onto the road, and crews are at the scene for the cleanup.

Officials are advising motorists to use caution in the area for the next few hours while the cleanup is completed.

Police said southbound traffic on Universal Drive from Eagle Crossing is closed. Westbound traffic on Montowese from Exit 9 off-ramp is also closed, according to police.
