NORWALK, CT — The town clerk's office announced Tuesday that Norwalk's 2025 dog licenses are now available for registration.
According to a news release provided by the city, all dog licenses must be renewed for 2025, and any new dogs over six months of age or currently unlicensed must also register at this time.
The city issued 3,100 dog licenses in 2024. All these licenses must be renewed for 2025, according to the city.

Owners can renew their dog's license in person at the town clerk's office, online at norwalkct.gov or through the mail.
The town clerk's office, located in room 102 of City Hall at 125 East Avenue, will process and mail the license to residents, according to the city.
If residents plan to mail in the form, they can address it to: Norwalk Town Clerk 125 East Ave Norwalk, CT 06856, and should include a self-addressed stamped envelope for its return, city officials said.
Residents may also drop off their renewal request at the town clerk drop box, located outside the front doors at City Hall. The town clerk's office will process and mail the license to residents, according to the city.
The 2025 license is valid from July 1, 2025, until June 30, 2026. Fees for neutered and spayed dogs are $8, and the fees for unneutered and unspayed dogs are $19, according to the city.
In July, the fees increase by $1 and each month thereafter another $1 is added to the original fee. If expired, a current rabies certificate signed by a veterinarian must be presented to the office to comply with state law, city officials said.
If a dog has not been registered before, a neutering or spaying certificate must also be presented for the first time when registering if the dog has been altered, according to the city.
The state of Connecticut has canceled all rabies clinics held by the towns again this year, city officials said.
