Arrest Made In Norwalk Crash That Seriously Injured Juvenile: Police
The crash occurred in April on Wilson Avenue, according to authorities.
NORWALK, CT — A 30-year-old Harrison, New York man has been arrested by Norwalk police in connection with an April crash that seriously injured a juvenile.
Giovani Holguin, the driver of the vehicle that struck the victim, surrendered to police on Wednesday, and was charged with the following:
- Second-degree reckless endangerment (5 counts)
- Reckless driving
- Traveling unreasonably fast
- Failure to maintain proper lane
According to police, the crash occurred at about 7:15 p.m. on April 19 near 44 Wilson Ave. in Norwalk.

"The investigation revealed that the injured juvenile was one of five individuals riding their bicycles along the eastbound lane of Wilson Avenue," wrote Norwalk Police Lt. Tomasz Podgorski in a statement. "Holguin, who was driving a vehicle westbound on Wilson Avenue, left his lane of travel prior to striking the juvenile."
Members of the Norwalk Police Department Crash Reconstruction Unit and Crime Scene Unit investigated the crash, which included canvassing the area for surveillance footage, interviewing witnesses, and reconstructing the accident based on the evidence gathered at the scene.

Holguin was determined to be the suspect, and a warrant was obtained for his arrest.
He was released after posting bond on bail of $50,000, and is scheduled to appear in Stamford Superior Court on May 23.
