Early Morning Car Carrier Fire Breaks Out On Highway In Norwalk: FD
Fire officials said four of the six vehicles loaded onto the car carrier trailer caught fire on Interstate 95 in Norwalk.
NORWALK, CT — A car carrier fire was extinguished by firefighters on Interstate 95 in Norwalk early Wednesday morning, according to fire officials.
In a news release, Deputy Fire Chief Adam Markowitz said the department received a report of a car carrier trailer on fire near Exit 14 on I-95 south just before 6 a.m.
According to Markowitz, four of the six vehicles loaded onto the carrier were on fire when crews arrived in the area.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze and specialized towing equipment was requested to remove the cars and trailer from the highway, according to Markowitz.
Markowitz said the fire appeared to have started in the brakes of the trailer, which the driver was unable to put it out with an extinguisher. The fire then made its way to the cars above.

No injuries were reported, Markowitz said.
