Drivers Injured In Street Sweeper, Construction Vehicle Crash On I-95 In Norwalk: FD
Fire officials said the drivers of a street sweeper and a construction vehicle were injured in a crash on Interstate 95 in Norwalk.
NORWALK, CT — The drivers of a street sweeper and a construction vehicle were injured in a crash late Tuesday night on Interstate 95 in Norwalk, according to the Norwalk Fire Department.
In a news release, Deputy Fire Chief Jonathan Maggio said the crash was reported just after 10 p.m. in the southbound lanes of I-95 just south of the Route 7 interchange.
According to Maggio, the crash involved a privatized street sweeper and a construction vehicle with an actively deployed attenuator system due to the left lane closure.

The driver of the street sweeper was pinned with a leg injury and was extricated by firefighters, Maggio said.
The driver of the construction vehicle was taken to a hospital with unknown injuries, according to Maggio.

Connecticut State Police are investigating the incident, Maggio said.
