The Health Department accepts Medicare Part B, Medicaid, Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield, ConnectiCare, HealthyCT, United, and Cigna. Please bring all your insurance cards with you. Otherwise, standard seasonal flu shots cost $25, and high-dose flu shots (an option for patients age 65 and older) cost $50.
The flu vaccines protect against seasonal and H1N1 flu, and anyone older than 6 months of age is encouraged to get their flu shot. When coming for their flu shot, all clients should try to wear short sleeves for easy access to the injection site.
In addition to clinics that are open to the public, the Health Department also works with employers to hold quick, efficient flu clinics at worksites, providing a valuable benefit to employees.
