Heidi Klum Possibly Interested in Private Norwalk Island

Remember that private party island with a distinctive past that is for sale? Supermodel Heidi Klum supposedly is interested in purchasing it.

The New York Post reports that Klum is interested in Tavern Island.

Tavern Island, possibly named for an alleged speakeasy during prohibition, went on the market with an asking price of about $11 million, according to Zillow.com.

Famed lyricist Billy Rose, known best for “Me and My Shadow,” once owned the property and it’s rumored Marilyn Monroe partied at least once on the island.

The island is about an hour from Manhattan and the main three-story home has six bedrooms, seven baths, two offices, an exercise room and a steam room.

There is also a two-bed, two-bath cottage and a boat house with another bedroom.

Also included in the package are two boats and a half-acre property with a dock and parking lot on the mainland.

“Of all the homes I’ve seen in Connecticut, this is far and away the most unique and most romantic and just plain cool,” said Rick Higgins of Higgins Group/Christie’s International Real Estate.
