Indian-American Coalition Endorses Moccia

Citing Moccia’s dedication to the community and standing record of improving Norwalk’s economy, a coalition of Indian-Americans endorsed Mayor Moccia at a reception on Oct. 23 at the Aladin Indian Bistro.

“Fiscally, he has done extremely well in terms of the management of Norwalk,” said Dr. Thomas Abraham in a release. Abraham, who hosted the event, added, “I think if he continues to do so, Norwalk will do quite well.”

House Republican Leader Larry Cafero and Senate Republican Leader John McKinney joined Moccia at the reception, and, according to the release said the Indian-American community support the Mayor's re-election campaign based on his "strong record on fiscal issues."

“These men and women are business owners that understand and appreciate the value of education, hard work, family and fiscal responsibility,” Rep. Cafero said in the release.

Sen. McKinney said he was proud to join the coalition of Indian-Americans. "As business owners and community leaders, they understand that Mayor Moccia is a fiscally responsible leader who is creating jobs and growing jobs in Norwalk," McKinney said in the release.

Citing impressive job growth and high employment, Biru Sharma was quoted in the release describing Moccia as, “a true embodiment of the Reagan Republican.”

“He is trying to bring employment, technology and job creation to Norwalk instead of dividing the city and that is what you need to do as Mayor,” Sharma said in the release.
