Man Accused Of Stealing $23,000 Worth Of Golf Clubs From Norwalk Store: Police
A man accused of stealing approximately $23,000 worth of golf clubs from a Norwalk business was arrested this week, according to police.

NORWALK, CT — A New York man accused of stealing approximately $23,000 worth of golf clubs from a Norwalk business earlier this year was arrested Wednesday morning, according to police.
In a news release, Police Sgt. Ryan Evarts said about $23,000 worth of golf clubs were reported stolen from a Connecticut Avenue golf shop in February.
With assistance from New York State Police, Norwalk detectives identified Matthew Berman, 41, of the Bronx, N.Y., as a suspect, Evarts said.

According to Evarts, Berman "has been connected to a series of commercial burglaries targeting golf equipment retailers across the New York area, resulting in the theft of thousands of dollars of high-end merchandise."
Berman was arrested on a warrant Wednesday morning. He was charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree larceny and second-degree criminal mischief.

His bond was set at $200,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court next month, according to Evarts.
