Norwalk police said three suspects were apprehended after a complainant called to report that he had been "jumped by three girls and a guy" who attempted to rob him. The male victim, 18, said he was walking along the Avalon Grove pathway on Belden Avenue when he noticed "two or three" females and a male sitting on a bench, according to police.
According to statements from the victim, as he got closer, one of the female suspects asked him for money as the male suspect blocked his path. Police said the male suspect then punched the victim in the face, threw him to the ground, and then a female suspect kicked him, before the group fled toward Wall Street. Police dispersed throughout the area, and reportedly found two female suspects, matching the description given, on Leonard Street.
Police said a male suspect was apprehended for trespassing at building 13 Roodner Court on Ely Avenue. He was later identified as the male suspect in the attempted robbery. Police said that the suspects have been identified as Allan Lyle, 22, Ashley Walls, 25, and Marzetta Williams, 23, all of Norwalk.
All three suspects have been charged with attempted robbery and held on a $10,000 bond, with the exception of Lyle who has an additional charge of criminal trespass and an additional $5,000 bond, according to police. All three suspects are due to appear March 6 in state Superior Court in Norwalk.
