Man Accused Of Driving 119 MPH Through Construction Zone On I-95 In Norwalk: State Police
State police said a Stratford man accused of driving 119 mph through a construction zone on Interstate 95 in Norwalk was recently arrested.
NORWALK, CT — A Stratford man accused of driving 119 mph through a construction zone on Interstate 95 in Norwalk was arrested Monday night, according to state police.
In a news release, state police said troopers from Troop G - Bridgeport spotted an Infiniti sedan traveling at a high rate of speed in the advanced warning area of a highway construction zone on I-95 north near Exit 16 in Norwalk around 10:30 p.m.
According to state police, the blue Infiniti Q50 was traveling at 119 mph within a construction zone with a posted speed limit of 55 mph.

The construction zone was active, and crews were working at the time of the incident, state police said.
Troopers stopped the vehicle and arrested the driver, Rakeim Thompson, 24, of Stratford.

Thompson was charged with reckless driving in a construction zone and second-degree reckless endangerment.
Thompson was released on a $2,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court in April, according to state police.
