Man Escapes House Fire In Norwalk, But Home Severely Damaged
Twenty-eight firefighters responded to the overnight blaze.

NORWALK, CT — The sole occupant of a Norwalk house safely escaped a blaze overnight but the home was left with significant damage, according to authorities.
Twenty-eight firefighters responded to the blaze around 12:45 a.m. Sunday on Tonetta Circle, authorities said. A man in the home exited after smoke detectors alerted him to the fire in the basement, according to authorities, who said the blaze extended to the first floor.
The basement and two rooms on the first floor were significantly damaged by the fire and there was extensive smoke damage throughout the home, authorities said, but no injuries were reported.
