Man On Parole Found With Firearm Arrested In Norwalk: Police
A Stratford man on parole was arrested on gun-related charges after a traffic stop in Norwalk, according to police.

NORWALK, CT — A Stratford man on parole was arrested Wednesday night on gun-related charges after a traffic stop in Norwalk, according to police.
In a news release, Police Lt. Tomasz Podgorski said an officer saw a vehicle commit a moving violation in the area of North Water Street around 6:30 p.m. and initiated a traffic stop.
During the traffic stop, Niza Clarke, 20, of Stratford, a passenger in the vehicle, tried to run from police but was caught by officers, Podgorski said.

Officers seized a firearm found in Clarke's possession and arrested him, Podgorski said.
According to Podgorski, Clarke is a supervised party on parole and is registered on the Deadly Weapon Offenders Registry.

Clarke was charged with illegal manufacture of a firearm, criminal possession of a firearm/ammunition/defense weapon, carrying a pistol without a permit, interfering with an officer and failure to wear a seat belt.
His bond was set at $250,000 and he is scheduled to appear in court later this month, according to Podgorski.
