Metal Shards Found in Crab Meat From Stew Leonard's: Reports

BREAKING: The store is recalling the product after shards of metal were found inside product bought at the Danbury location.

DANBURY, CT — A customer reportedly found shards of metal in a container of imitation crab meat after buying the product from Stew Leonard's in Danbury, according to multiple reports including the News Times. The chain is pulling the product from the shelves after Michael Tracy Jr. posted photos and video of the metal found inside the crab meat.

"For the record I did not post this to deter anyone from shopping at Stew's," said Tracy in a statement."As this happened to my family and I we will still continue to shop at Stew's. I simply posted this to make people aware if they purchased."

Reports indicate Stew Leonard's says the discovery of metal appears to be an isolated incident. Customers who bought the product with a sell-by date of Aug. 12 can return the product for a full refund.
