Mount Vernon Man Arrested for Damaging Mother's Car, Front Door

A 22 year-old New York man was arrested on Sunday after he allegedly damaged one of the doors on his mother's home and vandalized her car, according to police.

According to the suspect's mother, she allowed Kyshawn Myers of 145 South First Avenue, Mount Vernon, to stay at her Norwalk home despite the fact that a protective order was in place to prevent Myers from staying there, according to police.

The complainant said that Myers became hostile after she asked him not to use the phone, according to police. He allegedly attempted to break down the door of the residence, and when officers arrived, they observed the broken door plus two broken windows on a car parked in front of the residence, police said. After a foot pursuit, officers tased Myers, who said that he wanted to kill himself, according to police.

Myers was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct, criminal mischief, interfering with a police officer, criminal trespassing and criminal violation of a protective order. He was scheduled to appear in court on May 20.
