National Day of Prayer Set For May 4
Sixty-five years ago a bill was signed into law for a National Day of Prayer and it is now celebrated the first Thursday of May every year.

From National Day of Prayer Organization: Sixty-five years ago, a bill was signed into law for a National Day of prayer. It was amended in 1988 to be the first Thursday in May as a beacon of hope for the nation. Since then, millions have gathered in various communities across the nation each year to pray for each other and for the world on what is now called the National Day of Prayer. This year, Norwalk Prays will meet in two locations on May 4 th to pray for our city and its people– a 12PM – 1PM lunch event at the SONO Community Center, and a 7PM – 8PM event with refreshments at the Cornerstone Community Church. Both are free of charge.
We welcome all churches to participate in order to unite our city and create a strong sense of community through the long-standing American tradition of public prayer.
We invite you to participate/attend our program as we pray for issues facing our city. Throughout the program, different individuals of our churches and community will pray in the name of Jesus for our elderly, families, first responders, victims of domestic violence, political leaders, etc. We also will present music and provide an opportunity for open prayer.
