NORWALK, CT — A Norwalk man accused of embezzling $286,000 from a Long Island, N.Y., dentist office was recently arrested, according to New York police.

In a news release, Nassau County police said Jeffrey Fernandez, 34, of Norwalk, worked as an office manager for a dentist office in Great Neck Plaza.

According to police, an investigation revealed the defendant embezzled approximately $286,000 from the practice between January 2020 and July 2024 by changing the business routing account number from the dentist office to his own personal bank account.

Fernandez was arrested Wednesday and charged with two counts of second-degree grand larceny and criminal possession of a forged instrument. He was arraigned in court later that day, according to police.
