Norwalk Police Announce Officer Of The Month

The Norwalk Police Department has announced the "officer of the month" for August 2025.

NORWALK, CT — The Norwalk Police Department announced Friday that Officer James Yang has been named "officer of the month" for August 2025.

In a Facebook post, police said Yang responded to a domestic violence incident involving a kidnapping.

"While en route, he quickly located the suspect's vehicle and conducted a traffic stop," police wrote on Facebook. "The suspect, who had assaulted his partner and forcibly taken her, was taken into custody without incident."

The suspect was charged with first-degree kidnapping following the incident, according to police.

"Officer Yang's attentiveness and swift actions resulted in the arrest of a violent suspect, preventing further harm to the victim," police wrote. "His dedication to protecting our community and ensuring the safety of victims is truly commendable."
