Obituary: Josephine Taccone, 88

Josephine Taccone, age 88 and beloved wife of the late Joseph Taccone, died peacefully at the Notre Dame Convalescent home on Thursday, October 17, surrounded by her family.  

Josephine was born on June 10, 1925 in Forio, Ischia, Italy, the daughter of the late Michael and Beatrice Morgera, and has lived in the U.S. since 1958. 

She was a former employee of Corday, Inc. in S. Norwalk where she worked for 20 years.  

Josephine enjoyed cooking and crochet, going on cruises and exploring the country of New York State, but especially cherished the special times she had with her family, who will miss her dearly.     

Josephine is survived by her loving children and spouses, Gaetano and Janice Taccone, Anthony and Cheryl Taccone, Francesca and Raffaele Iacono, all of Norwalk, Beatrice Chiappardi and her companion Vincent Sullivan of FL, and Michele (and the late Potito) Coluccelli of Norwalk, her brother Lorenzo Morgera of Italy, 16 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.    

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, October 22, 10 AM at St. Jerome Church, 23 Half Mile Rd., Norwalk.  

Burial will be private.  Josephine’s family will receive friends at the Magner Funeral Home, 12 Mott Ave., Norwalk on Monday from 5-8 PM.  In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to the Notre Dame Convalescent Home, 76 West Rocks Rd., Norwalk, 06851.
