Police: Monday Morning Commute 'Went Smoothly'

Despite the havoc that Friday's train derailment and collision was expected to cause across Fairfield County, Monday morning's commute in Norwalk went "pretty smoothly," according to police.

More than sixty buses were stationed at Veterans Park Monday morning to take Norwalk commuters to the Stamford train station to continue their route to Manhattan, according to police, but for the ride back, commuters will be dropped off at the South Norwalk train station. Commuters traveling north will catch a second shuttle to Westport, Fairfield, Fairfield Metro or Bridgeport Stations.

Norwalk police officers as well as MTA personnel will be present during the afternoon commute to direct traffic, according to the department.
