Results of Norwalk Police DUI Checkpoint for St. Patrick's Day
Police say theyfound some intoxicated drivers, but many more unregistered motor vehicles and quite a few people driving without seatbelts.

Here’s what Norwalk police found when they set up a checkpoint on West Avenue to identify intoxicated drivers on the evening of St. Patrick’s Day (Tuesday, March 17 to early morning on March 18):
- Driving while under the influence: 2
- Driving without wearing a seatbelt: 9
- Driving an unregistered motor vehicle: 21
- Use of a cell phone while driving: 1
A total of 50 infractions or summonses were issued or arrests made. Along with the checkpoint, police had additional ”roving DUI units” patrolling the city, and these statistics include what those units found.
