NORWALK, CT — Officers are investigating reports of gun shots fired Thursday night near baseball fields in Norwalk, according to police.

In a news release, Police Sgt. Ryan Evarts said officers were called to Midrocks Drive around 9 p.m. after receiving a report of five gun shots heard near baseball fields in the area of Honey Hill Road.

According to Evarts, several casings were found in the parking lot of the Honey Hill Ballfields, which were later determined to be blanks.

Evarts said there was "no reason to believe the public is in danger at this time," however the incident remains under investigation.

Anyone who sees or hears anything suspicious in that area, or any other area of the city, is asked to call 911.
